Family Service Hours FAQ
How do my service hours get recorded?
There are a few ways to get your hours recorded. Please make sure that you have completed one of the following forms each time you
volunteer. Remember it is your responsibility to track and turn in your service hours.
1.) Classroom Volunteer Log- In each classroom there is a volunteer sign-in sheet that you should sign and track all of your classroom hours, including field trips, misc. teacher help, class parties, and room parent asst. room parent duties. These logs will be turned into the office by the teacher or room parent each month.
2.) Cafeteria Volunteer Log- In the cafeteria there is a volunteer sign-in sheet that you should sign and track all of your cafeteria hours, including Jr. High lunch days.
3.) Misc.Meeting/Event Logs- Most meetings/events that you attend will have a specific meeting sign-in sheet that you will sign-in on and will be turned in by the meeting or event chairperson.
4.) Volunteer Slips- Volunteer slips are for misc. service hours or events when a sign-in sheet is not available. Please do not submit a volunteer slip if you have already signed-in on a volunteer log. Volunteer slips can be obtained in the office.
Can grandparents perform family service hours?
Yes, but please make sure to note the name of the family for which hours are to be applied to when submitting volunteer/service hours.

Why are service hours so important?
It takes a lot to keep our school operating and volunteer/service hours do help keep our tuition costs down. Even more important, we are all members of the OLM school community and with your participation in school functions, all of us benefit. We believe that family involvement is critical to the success of our children and our program is designed to encourage a sense of responsibility to the community, compassion for those in need, and commitment to living out the message of Jesus.
