OLM School was founded in 1927 and still going strong, despite the economic challenges facing our community. Across the U.S., Catholic schools are celebrating Catholic Schools Week and its theme “A+ for America”. Be sure to check our calendar for CSW events as we give thanks for the blessings of Catholic Education.
Videos of the Knights of Columbus presentation of the colors and Supervisor John Pedrozo’s proclamation from Merced County are posted here. More videos (with safety issues in mind) may be posted soon.
Enjoy Catholic Schools Week! If you have fond memories of your time in Catholic School, please post them in the comments. All comments are moderated and will not post immediately. Please do not share any personal information.
It is with great sadness that we hear of Bishop Steinbock’s passing. We lift up his family and the Diocese of Fresno in our prayers at this time of loss. We mourn his death but not as those without the hope of his eternal passage provided by Jesus’s Passion.

UPDATE (3/2/10): Unfortunately, we did not made the top 10 and will not be in the running for the online voting. There is so much need out there. One of the top 10 candidates had their library flooded. Thank you all for your help and support of this project. ~Mr. Somers
OLM School has submitted an application for a technology makeover grant for our library through Acer Computer. The prize is 10 laptops and 2 desktop computers valued at $12,000. The grant application includes an optional video which has been posted to Youtube. Several faculty and students assisted with this project and I am very grateful for their help. I think you will be pleased with the results after only 3 days. Anthony G. and Jacob B. also were also featured as well as many other students and faculty. I even included the picture of the school forming the cross. I think you will enjoy it.
Here’s the link to the video:

Again, thanks to all those who assisted with this project. I really appreciate it. Finalists will be selected Feb. 1 followed by an online voting period. I hope you will help us spread the work if/when we are chosen as finalists and will help us get LOTS OF VOTES. I’ll let you know when that happens and give you all a link to forward on to as many people as you can.
*Note: Since Youtube is blocked on school computers, you will not be able to view this video on campus. (Darn that system administrator! Wait, that’s me!)
