The past few months, OLM school has been involved in many community out reach activities. During the month of December, we donated money, food, clothing and toys to the annual “Spirit of Christmas” dinner. Over 550 men, women and children were served. Many were given clothing and a bag of groceries to take home. Many children were given a toy. Thank to our OLM families for their generous donations.
All students in grades five and eight have taken the ACRE Religion test during the month of Jan. along with students from these grades throughout the Fresno Diocese. This test measures the students’ knowledge of religion terms, the Sacraments and values. The results are utilized to evaluate OLM’s Religion curriculum.
Our 2011-2012 Basketball season is coming to an end and we would like to thank all the player and the coaches for all their hard work and dedication. Thank you to Mrs. Mills for operating the scoreboard and keeping score books for all the away games. Thank you to all the parents who drove or worked the concession stand we couldn’t have done it without your help. The sports banquet for the players will be on Tuesday, Feb. 21st at 6pm.
All students in grades 3 through 8 are invited to participate on the OLM track team. Practices begin the last week of Feb. and continue through May. Sign ups and a mandatory parent information meeting will be held on Thursday, Feb. 13th at 6pm in the OLM gym. We are looking for enthusiastic parents to help coach.
The enrollent fo the 2012-2013 shcool year will begin shortly. Registration for returning students starts March 1st and continues to April 20th. Open registration for new students will begin April 20th.
You and any guests are invited for a trip around the world when OLM will again host International Night on Tuesday, Feb. 7th from 6-8pm at OLM School auditorium. The classes choose a country and learn and study about that country. They will share their information will all.
This Saturday, Feb. 4th at the 5pm mass and this Sunday, Feb. 5th at all the masses the OLM Band is having a bake sale. Please stop by and purchased some wonderful homemade or store bought goods to support the band.
We are a new program, just a few years old, with approximately 18 student members from 4th – 8th grade.
All proceeds will go towards our band program which includes uniforms, instruments and expenses, we accept donations of cash as well as instruments that may no longer have a use in your closet.
There are lots of special activities this week, starting with this weekend’s masses. We hope you can celebrate with us. More details will be sent home with your child. Thank you for supporting Catholic education.

It is the parent survey for the Western Catholic Educational Association’s (WCEA) Improving Student Learning process. This online survey will be electronically collated and the results will be incorporated into our WCEA self-study. Our school is accredited both by the Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA) and Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). These organizations ensure that schools meet various standards in all aspects of running a school.
